Swage vs. Mech fitting

Greetings to all. I'm replacing chainplates & turnbuckles, present wire evidences no obvious deterioration, but is shorter than desireable. I plan to add a Sta-lok long-eye fitting to correct length.

Presently, the lower four shrouds have swaged fittings on top and sta-loks on bottom. I plan to flip the wire, end for end, replace the swages with new long-eye fittings.

Result would be existing sta-loks now at top of wire & new long-eye sta-lok on bottom.

Thanks for any insights as to issues regarding flipping wire, or swages on top vs sta-loks on top.

Replace the wire, too

Unless you really know the history of the wire (and maybe even if you do), I'd replace it too.

Wire is the cheapest component in the system. The price diff between long and standard StaLoks will help pay for it.
