Wireteknik A200
I have the opportunity to buy a used A200. Wondering if these machines ever wear out or go out of spec. On this one, anything bigger than 7/32 has to be pulled thru twice (rotating 90 degrees) to get to spec dimension. Is that normal?

Out of spec
Hi,
As I understand it, one of the major selling points with Wiretecnic swagers is that they only require one pass; the one you are looking at is clearly out of spec. From what I've seen, it is harder to deform these machines than Kearney types, because the cams are not the drive mechanism, and thus can be fitted with much more massive bearings. So if yours isn't handling 7/32" wire, it has been rode hard and put up wet. Fair leads, Brion Toss |
The following is from the WireTeknic website.
NOTE. This swager is designed to reduce the terminal shank to the required diameter in one pass. However variations in the dimensions of the terminal or cable or material hardness may make two passes necessary. http://www.wireteknik.se/operating1.htm |
