trysail track size

I am pulling my rig tomorrow and while it is out, I am thinking about installing a trysail track. My question is will Schaeffer 5/8" track be big enough for a 35' 14k lb boat? I would go with 7/8" but the local chandlery is out, which would mean installing in the future with the rig up.

Thoughts?

If this from last April you've probably already addressed it, but, wait till you can do it right.
5/8's is too small. Also, a trysail track isn't all that far up the rig.

Bigger and better

Hi there,
Yeah, 5/8" is too small. 7/8" is big enough, but we've found that it's no longer good enough; to much variability in thickness and width, making it really problematic getting even joints, or having slides fit. My current favorite is the track that Schaefer makes for their Battslide hardware. Beautifully machined, much easier to install and align that the old-style stuff, and you can land it right up against Strong Track or similar, without risking fouling the mainsail. Nice.
Fair leads,

The track that SELDEN sells is really nice too - as it is rounded on the back side its really easy to line up straight and true on the mast. Super nice composite slider cars too, and cheap!!!!
