Mast Steps
Hi,
I use your harness along with a wratchet block (as you suggest in your dvd) to go up my mast. I also use a pursik knot as an additional safety. Because of the block and pusik knot I can not get quite as high I need too to work comfortably at the top of the mast. I was thinking of putting a couple of mast steps towards the top of the mast to allow me to get higher and to feel safe. Is that a good or bad idea? Thanks, John Barker |
If you have a lot of work up there, maybe. You still want to secure yourself to the mast and the sit-harness will get you as high as at all practical. Perhaps you're using a bo'sun's chair where the actual connection to the halyard is more up by your sternum and thus too high.
I've found that if I adjust my foot-loops that does everything ergonomicly that a pair of steps could do. But your secure comfort is most important. G'luck |
