'Eye' vs 'T' toggle turnbuckle differences?
I'm wondering what would drive the decision to use one of either 'Eye' or 'T' toggles? For example the TFB or the ETFB toggles from Hayn - http://hayn.com/marine/rigging/tfb.html. They both seem to offer two degrees of freedom, is one better suited for certain applications?

Eye vs T
There are many things to consider when making a choice like this , but structural strength comparison may not be a big one.
I would think that durability and long life may be more important , depending on your expected use , and or, place of use . I am a little curious as to the look or shape of the eye , as it reminds me of the eyes used on aircraft , not marine eyes . I am not favourable to "T" headed stud terminals especially forged or fabricated from SS , but I do mix SS and bronze successfully , like a bronze toggle and a SS clevis pin . |
