Options
Hi,
If a given configuration worked for your wooden mast, the same configuration will work for a comparably/appropriately dimensioned aluminum one. Since we don't know if the wooden mast was optimal, it were a good idea to run some basic mast design numbers (this could be done by you, or by me as a consultation) to determine the ideal aluminum section. You also have the opportunity to change the configuration, and this would result in a different mast section. Either way, get those numbers. Fair leads, Brion Toss |
where would i begin to find these numbers?

Books
Hi again,
Skene's, Larsson & Eliasson, and especially the Apprentice. But for the latter, see about finding an older copy for the moment; there's a new edition coming out soon. Fair leads, Brion Toss |
