Mizzen Backstays

As Brion's post implied, staying design is not a "yes or no" thing, it's a "depends" thing. I'm not a rigger, but I wouldn't give much credence to anyone who would tell you "yes" or "no" on adding...

Backstays on Mizzen

I have an Allied Seawind ketch with two sets of stays on the mizzen. One set is set slightly before the mast, and augments the forward tension of the spring stay that spans from the masthead of the...

Old saying that helps remind...from Brion's Book

The old saying to remind which way to go is "Worm and parcel with the lay; turn, and serve the other way"...if you say that to any normal person, they'll think you need medication...:D

Thanks

Thanks, Brion. Has anyone had any experience with the CDI flexible furlers? Do they work? Also, ATN makes a storm jib that fits over the furled headsail....does anyone have any input on...

Solent Stay

I recently purchased an old Allied Seawind Ketch (she's a real peach!), which has a Solent Stay, currently detached at the deck and stowed at the shrouds. The boat is equipped with Roller Furling on...
