Try a surplus/camping type store that would sell one of those wood handled sewing awls with the thread spool in the handle. That's the only place I've seen what you're describing. A sewing store might have it too. You going for a "classic" look the regular #4 Marlow colours don't give? Robline I think makes a dark-ish brown #4. I have a spool of it in the bottom of a bag somewhere. It wasn't very heavily waxed and broke a lot.
