![]() Is there any shoot-from-the-hip advice for the location of the whisker pole atachment? Do you want the pole paralell to the SWL, or how should it sit in relation to the sail? Or is it more a matter of where is convienent to mount and acess under way? Boat is a Flicka 20. Thanks!

![]() Go to the Flicka site, grab or print the rig/sail plan
Draw the sail you will be using with the whisker pole Draw the LP (luff perp, start from clew and end at forestay, perp to forestay) Draw a horiz line from about mid-LP back to the mast. That's about where the butt of your pole should go. Within a foot is probably good enough. Yep, you want the pole near horizontal when flying. You will want to adjust the tip up and down a little with a foreguy and topping lift to get the correct twist and leach profile, if possible. |
