![]() Hi,
I am rigging the jib boom on my schooner. Will be serving vectran line for the stays. Is it acceptable to make an eye connecting the port and starboard stays with (2) 432 tuck splices? This way I am putting only one loop over the end of the jibboom. Or should each stay have its own loop? Outer martingale stay will have an eye splice as well. Would there be a preference as to which loop to put over the end of the jib boom first? Below is a link showing bowsprit assembly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQYYP_9e9l4 I show a serving mallet I made from a drawing, have not used it yet. Would not mind any notes if you notice anything missing. drawing was faded. Thank you, Jim Kruse
