Default Pad Eye Chainplates

First post here. Thanks in advance. Trucking My CAL 28 from Florida to Virginia and have the opportunity to replace all of my rigging, which is 24 years old. I have Pad Eye Chainplates attached to internal rods for the shrouds, and I have to ask for some advice on:

1. Removal and replacement.
2. Inspection ( I am assuming dyd penetrant)
3. If replacment is necessary, where in the world do I get new ones?

Thanks

gaff

Hello,
You might be able to get replacement pieces from the manufacturer, if they are still in business. But we usually have local fabricators make some up to our specifications. Usually just as cheap, and often better in terms of materials and angles and bearing surfaces.
As for inspection, dye penetrants are a very messy way to go; I recommend a microscope.
Fair leads,
Brion Toss
