If 316 is available, use it, for the same corrosion-resistance virtues that make it desirable for standing rigging. Perhaps more important is construction; the rare 1x7 stuff is flexible, more resilient, far preferable to the stiff 1x1 that every chandlery sells. Fair leads, Brion Toss |

Thank you. 304 was all that was available. It was difficult to find. Hamilton marine in maine stocks Loos 1x7 annealed wire 1/16" diameter. jim
