Default value of non destructive testing in 10 years old rod rigging

Hi,
my current rod rig is 10 years old (Grand Soleil 40 R). In your view would it be OK to keep it for another couple of years if upon x-ray examination the cold heads didnīt show any signs of fissures or cracks?
Normally the advice is that it is not worth the expense of examining the rig by x-ray as that is almost as expensive as a new rig, which makes perfect sense. However, I would be able to carry out x-ray examination of the cold heads almost for free using the available x-ray equipment of a friend's veterinary clinic. Besides, there is a Veritas Bureau team in Lisbon (Portugal) that carries out the inspection for approx. €500. In this case, x-ray and magnaflux examination of the cold heads, if it comes clean, would allow me to use the rig for another couple of years? Or, in your view, this type of examination cannot predict with accuracy the chances of a rod breaking out of the blue? I am currently installing a brand new forestay (due to the instalation of a roller furler), which I've read is the most prone to fatigue and cracking. Would that and thorough examination of the remaining cables suffice?
I would REALY appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Antonio Duarte
