Splice Location???

Evolution of the Sparcraft debacle... I've located a mast that is a full length section, but shorter than my original stick... Plan is to lop off the stemhead and splice a length of my original busted stick on top...

So it changes splice locations from the original... Moving it from just above the lower spreader to just below the top (third) spreader... It seems to me that the loading is much lower with the new proposed splice location, and this new splice location will work just fine... Any thoughts anybody???
