Default Shackle

Hi,
you can use a stainless steel U shackle: the curved part fits nicely with the curve of the thimble, and the pin goes to the tang hole. Wichard makes several shackles that have different grades, and therefore different strengths, for the same size. These stronger ones have, of course, a different price, but it's useful to know that not all SS shackles are made equal. My forestay and jibstay use long shackles to connect the thimble to the mast tang, with very good success.
