![]() Hi all,
I have just purchased a small trailer tri which has an older Type A furlex headsail furler. There must have been some issue with the furler as it is unserviceable at the moment with the lower set of ball bearings from the central lower bearing assembly missing. As far as I can tell from the manual and spare parts book, this is repairable if only I can dismantle the lower bearing assembly which I am finding quite difficult to do. I can see where it must undo but I don't want to force it. Anyone here pulled one apart before that can let me know the secret? It would be a shame to not be able to fix it. regards, Andrew |

![]() Hello,
Oh, you do not want to get into disassembling that unit. Those bearings are probably missing because somebody thought they should, and discovered the wonderful sound that all those teensy ball bearings make as they spill onto the deck, and then splash into the water. No, what you want to do is to detach that portion from the foil, put it into a box, and send it to Furlex, along with a plea for help. Send it attention to Bernie Beasley. He'll love dealing with it. Tell him I said hi! Fair leads, Brion Toss |
