Default Privilege 482 Catamaran

I have a Privilege 482 Catamaran. Last year I lost the mast in the Med. I have just received a new mast from France and was wondering what type of standing rigging I should have the rigger fit. I know there are different types of SS wire. Which should I use?
How can I ensure that the rig is propertly tuned as I believe the last rigger left the shrouds too slack resulting in my dismasting in a heavy beam sea.
Thank you

Default Communicate with your rigger

The best thing to do is talk with your rigger.

You should have selected a rigger who is familiar with catamarans and hopefully with your specific boat, and if possible someone who is based in the region where your vessel is located (this allows them to quickly get additional parts/services which may come up during the job, often saving time and/or money.)

Since you have a professional who is knowledgeable about your type of boat already hired, they can best advise you regarding the material to use for your rig. Tuning a rig is a regular maintenance task, like changing oil in the car or the air filters for your house's furnace. Have your rigger teach you how to do the job yourself, or plan on having it done for you on a regularly scheduled basis. Ask the rigger for help with setting up a regular maintenance and inspection plan, including selecting the necessary tools.
