Yes, Spectra is slippery. That's why the extra turns on the drum would be so important. And because knots weaken any rope, those extra turns are needed for regular rope furling lines.So you could try one of the rope-enlarging methods we've talked about. Or maybe you could drill a smaller hole in the drum, with faired edges.
