Default 2003 Beneteau 393 tie rod

I have a claim on a 2003 Beneteau 393. A little history, the mast has a main roller furling system which the entire mast was replaced due to freezing, the mast, deck stepped accumulated water in the base up to about nine inches, this water froze and actually deformed the mast and split the extrusion. The owner has since found the tie pin that is fiberglassed into the hull grid system has for some reason caused a crack to develop in the fiberglass at the tie pin just aft of where the toggle is attached. A claim has been put in as to the freeze causing this damage. I don't see it that way. Any help or have you seen this before. Not sure how to send photos?

Hello,
What tie rod are we talking about? Chainplate? Pictures would help, and the "Attach Files" section should be easy to spot.
Fair leads,
