Default Condition of Mast

Hello,

I have a 48 year old 38' aluminum mast on my sailboat that I am not sure if I should replace. At present the mast is not stepped and all of the standing and running rigging need to be replaced. There is corrosion under the location of the spreader bases (on the mast) that is pitted.

Is this pitting a concern for the masts strength. As well, there is a small bend in the mast (to the side). It looks like about 5 degrees of angle and it is about 1/3 of the distance from the top. Another concern is a 1.5 inch crack at the bottom and a fairly corroded mast step.

Is a mast this old a liability? All advice appreciated on my mast or if I should consider replacing it.

Does anyone know of a mast manufacturer on the West Coast in the Seattle / Vancouver area?

Thanks for all replies.
