Default Serving Materials

Hi Folks, I am just shy of half way through the serving of the galv' rig on Talisman our two masted Gaff, stays'l Schooner. After the first winter I am a little alarmed by the rapid degridation of the "slush" used to coat and protect the marlin twine. In the Riggers Handbook, Brion suggestes using "Black Tarred Nylon" rather than Tarred Marlin. I cannot find any refference to "Tarred Nylon" here in England. Can any one help me with trade names or an internet supplier?

THe "Slush" I am using is Black Bitchimum, Varnish and Stockholm tar.

Many thanks Simon
