Default Ridgid boomvang

I own/sail a 1986 33 foot C&C. Normally it is crewed by my wife and myself (shorthanded!). I have been considering installing a rigid vang in conjunction with the topping lift. In a feeble attempt to save money, I have been looking at a brand named "BOOM KICKER" and wonder if anyone has any information, past experiences, bad experience, etc, on these. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
