Default Boat in a Box Storage

Ahoy All , my wife owns a 20' Cape Dory Weekender Typhoon sailboat.

Currently she is wanting to ship her boat back to the US from Singapore, just like she shipped it to Singapore , from Alameda in S F .

We will be sailing our BCC from S'pore to Japan , the first year in season, then the next year , continuing on to Port Townsend, where we expect to berth her there, if that works out.

Her C/D Typhoon fits well in a 40' cargo container on it's trailor, mast and all.

We will be looking for a reasonable priced storage for the container , while we are onroute with the larger BCC , for 2 - 3 years .

My wife "Lang" , is a puter I/C design engineer for Broad Com a US Co , with a base in Seattle.

I am a little familiar with Port Townsend , from attending seminars and wooden boatshows there back in 1994 - 1996 .

If anyone has some constructive ideas , to accomodate her boat , 40' container , for long term storage , in the Washington area , we would like to know .

You may contact us at : [email] dwkayaks@yahoo.com

Currently our S/V BCC Calliste , is berthed in Singapore .

I've no ideas on where to put the boat, but to Lang, to anuyone who would lavish such love on a little boat:

Fidelity

The sailor is loved by and loves one vessel
Or dares not voyage where they may live or die together.
The terms of fidelity are for the voyage, at least,
But most sailors sail different ships at different times.

We who are professionals my be as good whores,
Giving good service for the voyage’s length.
The Corinthian is a bit of a slut
Skipping from yacht to yacht for pleasure.

The sailor may love with mechanical competence
Or with lyrically delirious abandon
Or bound in chains of bitter duty
Or just a summer sunshine thing.

I pray that every sailor takes the chance
To love one vessel without stint or measure.

, Oh , Nicely Said, Ian , about "Fidelity" .

Yes, without a doubt my wife Lang , loves her C/D Typhoon , just as much as Carol Hasse loves her Folkboat .

Of course , I love my Bristol Channel Cutter , especially because such greatly skilled people like Brion and Carol's work are onboard and giving such wonderful service, a Big T Y , guys !

We will be checking the internet for storage space leads , as well , and looking forward to seeing heaps of the P N W shoreline from our boats , in the future .

I had a great summer in my youth with a Typhoon. Great boat.

I kept a trailer behind my company building for a couple of years, free. It's worth talking to Broadcom and see what they can do for you. I suggest talking directly to either the security officer or facility engineer. Don't go through senior management unless you have to or unless she IS in senior management.

I got a rental policy that covered the belongings in my trailer.
