Default Furlex Furler Problem

I have a Furlex Furler on my Headsail on an Island Packet 38. It takes a lot of force to pull the furling line to furl. I have cleaned the upper swivel and relubed, cleaned the lower drum and lubed as well as decreasing the tension on the halyard.

Any ideas on why it takes so much effort to furl? I have contacted Furlex but it is a 14 year old unit and they had no reccomendations.

Many thanks for any suggestions.
